How to Play Dragon vs Tiger: Rules, Bets and Payouts for Beginners
By Dragon Tiger Club ·
Dragon vs Tiger is the game that gives Dragon Tiger Club its name. It's one of the simplest card games ever made: two cards, one winner. Here's everything you need to play your first round.
The basic idea
Each round, one card is dealt to the Dragon side and one to the Tiger side. You bet on which side will have the higher card. That's it — no extra cards, no decisions after the deal.
Card values
Ace is the lowest card (1), and King is the highest (13). Number cards count at face value: 2 is 2, 10 is 10, then Jack 11, Queen 12, King 13. Suits don't matter in the main bet.
The three main bets
- Dragon — wins if the Dragon card is higher.
- Tiger — wins if the Tiger card is higher.
- Tie — wins if both cards have the same value. It pays much more because it happens far less often.
Payouts for each bet are shown on the table inside the app — always check them before placing chips.
How a round plays out
- The betting timer starts. Place your chips on Dragon, Tiger or Tie.
- Betting closes and the two cards are revealed.
- Winning bets are paid automatically; the next round begins.
Beginner tips
- Start with the smallest chip until you're comfortable with the speed.
- Remember every round is independent — past results don't predict the next card.
- Tie bets are tempting but lose most of the time.

Understand what a streak does not mean
Past hands are not a forecast
A history board can show several wins for the same side in a row. That pattern feels meaningful, but it does not make the opposite side due next. Decide the most you can lose before the first hand, and do not enlarge the next stake because a previous guess was wrong.
Read the tie rule at your table
When both cards have the same rank, the table applies its own rules to the main bets as well as the Tie option. Payouts and settlement can differ by provider. Check the information panel in the actual game rather than assuming every Dragon vs Tiger table pays alike.
Try one round as an observer
Watch the betting timer close, the cards turn over and the result appear before committing money. This shows how quickly the next hand begins and where the minimum stake is displayed. If the pace encourages rushed decisions, leave the table. Read six common mistakes before treating any betting pattern as a system.
